This is why I want us to be back

I think Auburn will totally destroy Oregon. Not even going to be close. Oregon has never seen the speed of a SEC team nor the physicality of them.

They have played absolutely no one all year long other than Stanford, who played the same flock of losers that Oregon did. They played 4 winning teams all year long. When you are facing 2-10 teams through most of the season you certainly look strong. This is ESPN's golden child for the year.

Hope I am wrong, but would be willing to bet some money on it.

I don't think Auburn's defense can shut down the Ducks offense. They take 10-20 seconds between each play and they don't even huddle. I bet Oregon will wear down Auburn's defense. Auburn only has Cam Newton. Oregon has a good qb and one of the best rb's. Oregon's offense will negate Auburn's speed on defense. It will be close but the Hesiman doesn't fare well in the National Championship game.

sure theyre the best conference in college football, no one sane would argue that.

but i am sick of them talking like theyre the best thing to grace the face of college football in the history of the NCAA. you think people would learn...what goes up, must come down

Until it does go down, people will continue to talk about them. It's a lot like the Big 12 with regards to the South and the North. When the South wins the title game year in and year out, people talk about the strength of the South and the weakness of the North. It's not just the best athletes reside in the Southeast. It's also that the best coaches want to coach in the SEC. Bobby Petrino wasn't lured back to the college ranks by the Big East. Saban jumped from the Big 10 to the SEC and that's where he came back to after a short spell in the NFL. The population of the U.S. has even shifted south as states from the North and Northeast are losing seats in the House while states in the South are gaining seats in the House due to population changes.

Auburn has played and beaten the defending National Champion. They beat LSU, Arkansas, MissSt, South Carolina twice. A tough SEC game nearly every weekend. No comparisson between the schedules and the results.

You do realize that Oklahoma actually runs more plays than Oregon in a game. It is done by quite a few teams actually, but because Oregon is the ESPN golden child it is all we hear.

I listent to Finebaum and I am sick of we are the SEC crap to. But this is not going to be a game. It is going to be a rout and could end up being the most lop sided win for the SEC.

I hope I am wrong, but I just do not see Oregon able to move the line on either side.

When the NCAA takes the NC away from Auburn here in about 3-5 years, will they do like the Heisman and there be no champion crowned or will they then give it to Oregon?

aurburns D is terrible. oregon shouldnt have a problem moving the ball, and im still standing by my statement that auburn is a 7-5 team at best without newton.

and i listen to finebaum from time to time as well. i thought it was great when SC beat bama this year because finebaum had a huge segment on how much stephen garcia sucked over the summer. but the people that call in are clearly drunk on SEC koolaid. i remember somebody saying that vandy could beat Ohio State on any given day

I am pulling for Oregon, make no mistake about that. Can you imagine the crap the nation will take if Auburn wins!

We are seeing the strength of the SEC in the bowl games. The cream rises to the top.. Their top teams are putting on quite a show it seems to me.

Not sure I agree with the way they do things down there, but we are all playing catch up.

I doubt Auburn will lose the trophy down the road. The NCAA could not handle another Bush deal. My guess is this is dead and has been investigated till the cows come home. It will be burried so deep no one will find out anything if it is wrong.

But this is the reason we play the games. Oregon the nation is depending on you.

It's amazing what oversigning does to a teams caliber huh?

if im not mistaken they allow prop 48 (or 16, or partial qualifiers...whatever u want to call it) recruits still, do they not? you know, the huge sticking point dr tom had with us joining the big 12, one of the more infamous 11-1 votes.

I'm not sure they are that loose but you're on the right tracks in that their admissions are less than difficult or challenging.

The SEC has great teams. They do that with great coaches, recruiting/"special" academic admissions, gobs of money, etc. I detest a good portion of their fans who talk down on other conferences because they are not the SEC. The fans of KY, Vandy, Miss think they are bad a$$ since they play in the SEC and would be contenders in Big10, Big 12, PAC 10. Heck, I read a SEC website just before the TN-Oregon game and most of the SEC fans were picking TN because "Oregon has not faced an SEC defense before". I know every team/conference has homers but they take it to a new level. I also can't stand the amount of taunting, cheap shots, a poor sportmanship displayed by SEC players.

The SEC has some factors in their favor as well.

They play very few non-conference away games and if they do, they are in a neutral site.

SEC gets very favorable bowl match-ups (CUSA, Big East, WAC) and most of the bowls are virtual home games for the SEC team.

Also, keep in mind, with all these advantages they are 3-4 in this bowl season with three games to go. They are also just slightly ahead against the Big 10 bowl games in the BCS era.

I really have nothing against the SEC but I can assure you I am NOT rooting for Auburn on Monday.
