All-Conference
1. We only recruit in Nebraska, Nebraska has no good players.
2. We only had a good season because we had a new coach. (WTH? and that's why we'll never be good again?)
3. All of the recruits don't want to go to Nebraska because they suck.
4. Oklahoma destroyed us.
These are the reasons why we'll never be good again. So I started talking back to him a bit. He said Clemson sucks. He talked about how teams that were good back in the day will never be good ever again because good players don't want to go there. He used the example and i quote. "The big 10 schools and all them suck now because all the talent goes to the ACC." That kinda made me laugh. I was like.. uh, you just said that Clemson sucks, but all the talent is going to the ACC. I told him to watch a little bit of football and actually pay attention not just look at scores and he'd see the talent Clemson had on defense. Then, he said Florida had the best defense in the nation. No joke. I just laughed to that comment. Then I asked him what exactly he meant by Nebraska can only recruit in Nebraska. He said that we can't get any good players from anywhere else. So i asked him if he had seen any of our committments. He said no he'd never heard of them because they sucked. So i started talking about how Green was the 10th rated duel threat QB and how Burkhead was the 11th rated all purpose back and how Williams was the 14th rated ILB, just using these 3 guys because how he was adamant that we couldn't recruit outside nebraska and these are 3 studs in Texas. So i told him according to rivals (which he seemed heavy to use) our recruiting class was 24th. He said that he doesnt see where that comes from because none of our kids played in the under armor or army all-american games, because all the good schools only go after those kids. So we got stuck with a bunch of back-ups at high schools in Texas. He then proceeded to say that the UF would dominate OU because OU sucked and they only scored points because all the defenses in the Big 12 sucked. Then i went back to the topic about schools that used to be good and sucked will never be good again. I asked him about OU and how they were good back in the day, then sucked, and are good again. He said that Marshall used to be good, and now they suck, that's why all the schools now won't be good again. So i asked how USC got good again and he said they have always been dominant.
I didn't even put my headset on until the 4th quarter because i heard him talkin then, and i'm glad i didn't earlier because my headache is bad enough already lol. All this occured while NU was polishing off a 28-7 win over UF and that 7 was a scoop-n-score because Cody Glenn fumbled it after a pitch on a speed option :bang
anyways, the whole thing really amused me, thought i'd write it out because offseason is boring.
