This was interesting...about the bowl bonuses

Not that they will but I wonder what would happen if they tried to fight this. Is there anything in the contract that actually says they shouldn't be paid in this circumstance or are they just making it up as they go?
I read the contract and it says "appears in any bowl game not part of the CFP" $150,000. No other stipulations as I see it.
Appears then if Riley cared to fight it, he would be eligible to receive said bonus. If he fights it, I can pretty much promise you he wont be head coach the end of next season though.
I agree. And I think he understands that. This is his goodwill offering for next year.

Witty said contract wording might be tweaked in the future to cover going to a bowl with a losing record.
"We Texas up drafting your contract. We're not going to honor the unambiguous language, and you're going to like it."

At first I took it as if they would add a restriction that would reduce or eliminate to bowl bonus with a losing record. It just says "wording might be tweaked in the future to cover going to a bowl with a losing record." So they could word it "appears in any bowl game not part of the CFP with at least a 6-6 record"

Who knows...

All it has to say is "qualify for a bowl game with at least a .500 record."

I'm sure it's something that's standard for other programs, but should coaches here really get bonuses just for making a bowl game? I know Bo got a bonus for making one as well, but it's kind of expected that you make one here why should you get paid extra for meeting the minimum requirement?

I don't care about the bowl bonus, but I am waiting to see if there are contract extensions.
