Those going to the game Saturday are you wearing black?

I see the players on twitter asking for fans to wear black to match the alternate unis and i know fans wore it at Wisconsin a few years back...those that are going Saturday are you wearing black or the traditional Red or White?

Nope. Our colors are Scarlet and Cream. There is a reason our stadium is known as "The Sea of Red" and why our fans yell "Go Big Red!"

I get the alternate uniform craze...I really do, and I have no problem with fans who do choose to wear black this Saturday. But this fan will be wearing his red Nebraska shirt & red hat like always.

Not going, but if I were, I'd wear red. Not against the idea of matching the team, but to obtain a true color-out, you have to get people on board like in July or give everyone a shirt NBA playoffs style. My favorite trend right now is the alternating section colors. Red + Black or even Red + White would look cool together like this.

If players are requesting that fans wear black, then I don't see much reason to go against that request. I hope there's a lot of black on Saturday.

If they want us to wear black they will have to hang one over 87,000+ seats.... just like how it works everywhere else.

But we (NU) can't afford that like other schools can... It's not like we have the highest ticket prices in the country or anything.

The reason is because it's a small bit embarassing if it's not done right, and the only way for it to be done right is if the athletic department does it.

Last year's towels were a good example - they were great for the Wisconsin game. Only gave them to the students with the alternate uniforms and the students loved them. Then they tried it again for Michigan but for the whole stadium, but without the alternate uniform excitement and without the public knowledge in advance, nobody else in the stadium really caught on.

I'm not going to wear black, but I'll bring my towel from last year.

Honestly, I thought this was a picture of Minnesota's crowd until you posted this and I went back and saw the endzone. I guess that shows how much I respect anything Iowa.

I heard there were signs at last weeks game asking people to wear black and now players are requesting the same. Might as well!
