Coker says he'll `be fine'

`PLAYED VERY HARD'
''There's no place for obscenities and certainly not directed at our players,'' Coker said. ``Our players played very hard, and I'm very proud of that fact. We have great fans here. They're very loyal and very passionate, and certainly they're disappointed.''

Coker said he told one recruit who was among several that attended the game (and according to radio reports, got beer spilled on them by angry fans), ''This is not the script I would have written for you to be here,'' but that at least they got to see the reality of what players sometimes go through and how a team responds.

Coker said he refuses to seclude himself in bad times.

``I don't really plan to hide. I'm not ashamed of what I do. I'm not ashamed of how I've carried myself, handled myself.

``. . . But hey, I'm hurting -- not from negative talk from people who don't know me or don't know the program. Our fans are hurting. I want to bring some good times, good feelings back for these fans, for these players and for this program.''

Awesome, Miami self destructing before everyone's eyes.

I wonder what Harland Gunn thinks? What if Coker is let go? Not that I think the Huskers want him because I am pretty sure he'd be quite the project.

GOOD!!!! I wish them nothing, but horrible times down there..............not liking the fact that one of their players was murdered so I don't want that to happen. Just all around bad-luck!!!! :thumbs

Dave, you read my mind about Gunn. That program has gone to the crapper in a hurry.
