Tierre Green to Safety?

LINCOLN - A person within the Nebraska football program confirmed Friday that Tierre Green, a sophomore I-back out of Omaha Benson, is contemplating a switch to the secondary.
The defensive backfield was hit hard by the losses of Fabian Washington and Josh Bullocks. Those starters announced this winter they'll skip their senior seasons to enter the NFL draft.

Green was stuck in a depth-chart logjam at I-back, playing behind Cory Ross, who will be a senior, and sophomore-to-be Brandon Jackson. Also adding to the competition this fall will be running back Marlon Lucky, a prized recruit from Los Angeles.

Green, a cousin of NFL running back Ahman Green, was unavailable for comment Friday. An NU sports information official said Husker Coach Bill Callahan would not comment on position changes until the team got closer to spring practice, which starts next month.
Green considers position change

I think that this would be a great idea if he is willing to do it. It would help him see the field and it would give us some depth in a weak secondary.

Word is that he has moved to cornerback. He played both sides of the ball in HS. I think it's a good move considering all the players at RB now.

On the Bill Callahan show, he said that Tierre Green is moving back to RB
:WTH

I'm confused now. Why would he move back? I had read he was doing well at CB? Who is going to replace him then?

If he is moving back to running back then Brandon Jackson's injury must be worse than what was originally thought. Otherwise this just doesn't make any sense.
