To those serious softball players like myself....

If you are a serious softball player and your wife is considered a "softball widow" during this time of year....I have the bat just for you! I have swung Demarini Bat's for over 10 years and I was not happy when they started switching to the world of composite. I stayed true to the old school bats, and swung the infamous aluminum double wall. I finally dented my last bat that I used for over 5 years. It was a sad day for me when I had to toss her in the trash. Since the bat that I used was no longer made I decided (with strong hesitation) to purchase my new Demarini. I bought the J2 double stacked composite and it came in this past Saturday. I took it out to the field and had a buddy toss me some balls. I peeled off the wrapper and stepped up to the plate. The very first pitch, BAM....a 330 shot over left field. I thought to myself, "Ok lucky shot"....The next 2 pitches went over the fence...The 2 after that, straight line drives off the left field wall. I was like...MAN....this bat is for real! The sound the ball makes off the bat sounds nothing like it did off of my old double wall. Out of the first 20 pitches I saw, 9 went over the fence. The guy who was tossing me balls decided to try it out himself. Now he is not known for a HR hitter, but he too ended up smacking a few out. This bat is just INSANE! Anyways......It's the hottest thing out in the softball world and many stores are back ordered. It runs for $300.00 bucks in the stores but I got lucky and found one on Ebay for $255.00 with shipping. Here she is. If you are serious about softball I highly reccomend this bat. The "sweet spot" on this sucker is INCREDIBLE!

I played tennis like a mad man when I was a kid. Was good but never much with a wood racket. In the 90ies ( age 43 or so ) I started playing again and then went to a Wilson Profile racquet, it was a composit. My partner and I won several championships (11). The power I had with that racquet was incredible.

The quality of baseball/softball bats these days truly is getting ridiculous. Composite bats rule.
As a 3rd baseman, I hate them.
Great point! I am glad that I play 2nd. The good thing about composite bats is most of the guys that use them, put the ball either over the fence or in the outfield. However, I have seen some nasty hot shots taken right down the 3rd base line!
