Less than 20 months since Tommie Frazier was praised for his potential at Doane College, the school announced Tuesday he was leaving as head football coach.

Frazier, voted one of the top two Nebraska football players ever and the quarterback for two Husker national championships, ended his tenure with Doane by “mutual agreement,” both Frazier and Doane athletic director Greg Heier said.

iF i REMEMBER RIGHT, iSN'T dOANE IN cRETE, ne?

So..I know this is an OLDIE...

But..

Does this make him...

An Ex-Cretion?

"Dear Lord, Please forgive me..And be with the Pygmies in New Guinee"

Yeah maybe he'll go and coach at ISU!!!
or become a assistant at ISU.

i don't think it's the fact that he can't be a good coach, it's just that he doesn't have the experience.

look at any coach in the field today: most didn't start off in the big chair right off the bat. they had to work their way up.

I know this was a little in the past.

But how did we lose Tommy's Little Brother to the team we beat (FLA) that year?

ROD FRAZIER

6-0, 220

Bradenton, FL (Manatee HS)

Considered one of the state's top fullbacks...Rushed for 845 yards on 145 carries (5.8 avg.) with 10 TDs as a senior at Bradenton Manatee...Selected squad's offensive MVP in 1995...Ranked among the top three FB prospects in the state by SuperPrep...Brother, Tommie Frazier, was the runner-up for the 1995 Heisman Trophy and led Nebraska to back-to-back national championships in 1994 and 1995.

I heard he was a d!(k to some of the kids there.
that's what i heard. the other side of the coin was that he was pushing the kids to win and the team collectively said, "meh."

my opinion? frazier had a D1 attitude in an environment where winning is nice but not really expected. when the football team is more of a social club that a competitive force, a type-a personality like frazier's won't fly for long.

frazier had the right attitude, but he was an in the wrong environment. and tommy couldn't (or wouldn't) adjust to his surroundings.

callahan was accused of the same things when he came to nebraska: the difference is that callahan came to a school where winning was expected... it was demanded. both by the school and the student players. everyone was willing to work in the callahan experiment if it would lead to an championship.

not so with doane, apparently.
