Tony Dungy on Tom Osborne

Watch the interview with TO by Dave Weber following the 1995 Orange Bowl. It comes up as a suggested video after the Dungy one plays. At least it did for me.

That guy just won a title. And he's so calm. Considering what he just accomplished, if I would have been him, at that moment, I would have been almost too overwhelmed to speak.

Tom, when he was a coach, was in my opinion the ideal coach. He never had to resort to anger or raw emotion to get his players to perform. He treated the job with the utmost professionalism, and truly exemplified, and still exemplifies, the idea of sportsmanship.

You know, you see things like that you have to understand that we were spoiled. Down right spoiled brats. And TO was here for so long, that became the norm for HuskerNation rather than what he/it really was-a total anomoly. A 25-year lightening in a bottle if you will. Looking back at what all we Husker fans have taken and are taking for granted, it's not wonder Bo's feet are close to the fire right now.
