NU sophomore defensive end Greg McMullen said it was immediately evident that Lewis won't back down when the offense and defense are going head-to-head.
“And that's what we need on the O-line, especially with them being very young and, some of them, it's their first time out there,” McMullen said. “I love to see it. It just makes them better. We're making them better.”

Pelini said the mental aspect will be a challenge until Lewis has the system down, but added that Lewis already is picking up things well.

“He plays with a good motor,” Pelini said. “He has experience, which obviously helps, and he likes to compete. And that's a good thing.”

It sounds like he realizes going to Colorado was a mistake, and it's almost as if he is trying to make up for it to prove it to himself that he really belonged here all along. I love the team is going to give him a chance.

Would you say he's the best offensive tackle by fall camp? Looks like he's up there with Zach Sterup

Both coaches and players seem to be pretty impressed. I'd say he already has a spot in a three-man rotation with Sterep and Knevel at the tackle spots and he might end up at the top. Glad to have him because it seems like Finnin isn't coming along as well as hoped.
