Travis Hill Passes Away

Travis Hill was one of the first amazing OLB/DE’s (they were initially considered OLB’s) that NU had after switching to the 4-3 in the early 90s. There was Hill and Alberts, then Donta Jones and Duane Harris, then Wistrom and Tomich, then Rucker, the Kelsay brothers, and Vander Bosch, and then Carriker and Jay Moore.  NU hasn’t had Rush Ends to the caliber of those guys in a long time.  I still remember Hill intercepting Koy Detmer on the first play of the ‘92 Colorado game.  It set the tone for a complete NU a$$ whipping.

Man.  Very sad news.  What happened/cause of death?  So sad... :(
I think it was a heart attack. Supposedly he had a heart attack about a year ago and was taking steps to get healthier, but he must have had another episode this week. It’s tough to see this because he is only a few years older than me.

In my mind, will always be linked to the 52-7 Halloween massacre.... one of the most satisfying Husker wins of all time.
