“I feel really confident in my ability to make those kinds of blocks,” Foster said Monday.
But Foster doesn't want to just settle for that role heading into his sophomore season.
“I can't really say I'm doing more of any other position than anybody else,” Foster said. “We're really just rotating at them all.”
Foster, Cethan Carter and Sam Cotton all return after getting decent playing time as redshirt freshmen or true freshmen last year. Greg Hart is among those who have joined the mix this spring.
Foster in recent practices, however, has seen more significant work with Cotton nursing a hamstring injury, and NU head coach Bo Pelini said: “I think he's taken advantage of it.”
“He does a good job,” Pelini said. “He's a tough kid. Plays really hard. He can do a lot of things. He's a physical blocker.
“I think a year in the system ... he's more comfortable. He got a lot of reps over the last couple days.”
