Two minute drill

Seems maybe the looks we were seeing from Taylor were those of him being pissed off but frustrated they weren't able to execute the plays they were hoping

NO TWO-MINUTE DRILL: Nebraska had 2 minutes, 41 seconds remaining before halftime, after USC had just scored a touchdown for a 14-3 lead. The Trojans had the momentum, and the Huskers hadn’t shown an ability to move the football.
The result? Bill Callahan chose to run the football and run out the clock. Why go into a shell?

“We didn’t go into a shell,” said Callahan, who seemed perturbed at the question. “We did what we wanted to do in order to win the game and what was best for our football team.”

Nebraska had consecutive runs of 5, 2, 4 and 4 yards to close the first half. Zac Taylor, meanwhile, didn’t have a chance to operate the two-minute drill that in NU’s previous two games resulted in touchdowns in the final seconds of the first half.

“Oh, sure, I’d love that opportunity,” Taylor said. “But they were dropping eight men in coverage, so it would’ve been tough. Sometimes it’s a smart thing to run the clock, get into halftime and figure out what to do.”

In a nutshell, USC made us one dimensional. <_< But that doesn't explain the absence of Purify, Swift and Nunn almost throughout the whole game. And when you did see them, we moved the ball through the air.

Taylor didn't agree with Callahan at all imo. You could tell he was mad at the end of the half. Who wouldn't be? Look what we have done in the first two games, granted it was against LA Tech and Nicholls State, but this team can move the ball if it has to. I wish they would have tried to move it, but at the same time, if they wouldn't have completed the ball, SC could have gone up by more.

There were calls for Purify, but he didn't get open AFAIK.

I just don't understand why they didn't keep passing in the fourth quarter. A great finish to the third q with Taylor getting into a rythm, but then they didn't continue it in the fourth q.

We should of passed the ball during the 2 minute drill because we should have tried to score a TD before the half

Can't wait untill they come to LINCOLN
