Two (small) silver linings

1. Not terribly insightful but if the team is going to have a slump and bottom you'd want it to be now in January. The 2013-2014 team went 3-6 in the first half of B1G play before finishing 8-1. Still a chance to bottom out, figure it out, and catch some momentum.

2. Barring a complete collapse in the 2nd half of B1G play, Huskers have still taken a step up in last few years. The 2013-2014 team had 30-point losses on the road to OSU and Michigan where they got completely boat-raced. This years team hasn't had a game they've been completely out of early and overall the team hasn't had a loss like that since probably @MSU last year.

Tl;dr Nebraska isn't complete garbage and has time to figure it out

Have we really taken a big step up in the last few years though? We haven't made the NCAA tournament since 2013-2014. I hope we turn it around, but from what I have seen from Miles in his tenure here, I would not expect much from this team this year in making a run to the tournament.

Nebraska may not be complete garbage, but they most definitely do not have time to figure it out. Not at 3-6, and 10th place in the league. They've probably gotta go 7-4 down the stretch to be included in the NCAA tourney.... 6-5 at worst.

With Copeland out, the chances of Nebraska making the tournament are Slim and None, and Slim is putting its coat on.

Maybe Copeland being out will open up some things. Sometimes having too many options is a bad thing.

I'd imagine Miles will go Watson-Allen-JPJ-Roby-Borchardt. We'll need Akenten Borchardt and Heiman to step up, but maybe moving Roby to the 4 will be better for him.
