That would be a great hire for them. But Rhule's advice to him a couple years ago was "don't take the wrong job," and I don't know that UCLA is the right job for anyone at the moment.
Deshaun Foster's hiring never felt like a strong one to me. I mean he had been a position coach for a decade, no coordinating or HC experience. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact Chip Kelly left them high and dry in February after the major carousels were complete.
My guess is they hire an up and coming coach looking for an opportunity. Jason Eck would be a little ironic but makes sense. Brent Vigen is another name that makes sense and will likely be considered. He coached Josh Allen under Bohl at Wyoming and has since gone to lead Montana State to a 48-12 record as a head coach- making the championship twice.
At the start of this season, I had some concerns about this game. Now, a lot can change from now until then, but I do not have much concern about this game presently.
