UNO to the Valley?

If Creighton jumps to the Big East, I would think UNO would be a good replacement for the Valley. Omaha is a good market for the Valley and the Valley would be a nice upgrade for UNO. Give them a few years and I think they could compete quite well with the other teams. It would be a nice achievement for Trev as well and maybe he could get some respect back from those who are hating on him for cutting football and wrestling.

I completely agree with this. It would allow the MVC to keep their biggest city in play and UNO fits the profile geographically and academically. The one drawback for the Valley is that it wouldn't be an immediate boost to the conference, more like a long term investment in the strength of it's current footprint. It would be just huge for UNO.

I'm pretty sure one of the three Dakota schools in the Valley for football, but the Summit League for all other sports would be miles ahead of UNO on the list to replace Creighton. I think that UNO just making it into the Summit was quite the achievement for a school in their first year of transitioning to Division 1.
