UW trip this fall

So I know this topic does not belong in this area but it will get more "action", plus it is the off-season so we all need things to keep us busy around here.

My buddies and I are heading to Seattle for the UW game this fall, we have our hotel at the Downtown Sheraton and are looking forward to the game etc. :horns2

We are going to be heading to Vancouver on Sunday and staying the night, none of us know anything about the area and are seeking some advice. Where is the best place to stay in the city? (Downtown, etc.) We are all in our mid to late 20's (no girls on this trip) so we are looking for a place that is near bars/nightlife. :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers

We did firm up our travel plans though, we are arriving on Thursday night 10pm and leaving Monday late afternoon. Vancouver Sunday night. I got airfare from Houston to Seattle for $250 (with tax and direct) :horns2

No game tickets yet, I applied for a couple with the UNL ticket office weeks/months back, have not heard anything. My buddies dad (who is coming) is a season ticket holder and applied for a couple tickets. He will get them as most season ticket holders will. This I guess leaves us to the 3rd party ticket environment. What are you doing for tickets?

:corndance $250 is a great rate! Mine wasn't much different ($270 I think)...I'm actually really surprised how cheap the flights are. Vancouver should be great. My friends and I are coming in Thursday morning and staying until Sunday...no Vancouver but plenty of :cheers . Do you have any activities planned other than the game and Vancouver? I'm trying to think of something to do Friday day/night.

I'm in the exact same boat as you with tickets. My family has had season ticket since before I was born and I put in for 6. I also haven't heard anything yet but don't expect it to be a problem.

Tickets at Husky Stadium should be easy to get. The stadium NEVER sells out.

As for where to stay, if you are looking for night life, Pioneer Square is where it all goes down in Seattle (the south end of downtown, by Qwest), but taxis are at a premium. Kirkland is also a pretty good to stay if you are looking at things to do, and they have a water taxi right to Husky Stadium on gamedays.

That's a given. I know quite a few people I grew up with in Nebraska coming out for the game.

 
Through stub-hub there aren't too many tickets left. And the prices for those remaining tickets are NOT cheap. Let me know if anyone knows of a cheaper outlet for tickets to that game. Considering that everything in that area is super expensive--I don't particularly feel like paying $200+ for good seats.

 
Right now it will be hard because Locker is getting all kinds of Heisman hype. Check a couple weeks before the game on Seattle Craigslist and the Bandwagon Seattlites will be dumping them like they are crabs (not the good kind).

Speaking of which, be sure to check out Ivars for some great Clam Chowder when you get up here.

Chicago- no other plans yet other than the game, the Mariners are in town that weekend but they suck this year. It could be a possibility for Friday night, booze and baseball is there a better combination?
