Visiting Lincoln...

ABHusker

Walk-on
... for the first time in September for the Arkansas State game! Have been a long-distance Husker fan for quite some time, and my wife just presented me with some plane tickets for our anniversary the other day!

Any suggestions as to the best things for us to do and see to maximize the experience would be much appreciated!!

GBR!!

I believe you can catch the band before the game warming up around the library if your into that. Or greet the team when they go to the stadium. There's the Husker pavilion or Nebraska bookstore hosts college game day now. There might be a volleyball game going on that week or try to catch a baseball practice.

For non football stuff in no order. Lied Center, Sheldon Art Museum, Elephant Hall, Tour the Capital bld. Good Children's zoo if you have kids. Sunken Gardens if your into that. Planeterium, Hyde Observatory at Holmes lake, Pioneer park nature center. Wineries

Thanks, Flatwaterfan - that's perfect. No kids on this trip (a bit too expensive to get them down from Calgary), but I definitely want to catch the pre-game stuff and hope that there is a victory party somewhere afterwards!

That tripadvisor article is a bit dated. PO Pears is now called Red 9 and Barry's no longer exists. There are many threads like this one out there and I'm sure someone who isn't as lazy as I could bump one for you. Enjoy Lincoln! The only problem you'll have with finding a victory party is choosing which one to go to!
