Was at the game behind NU bench, some thoughts

This will be my only post on this game but I was there also and what

ticked me off was that not even after warm ups when the team gets into

a big huddle ( Grixby did not even jump on top of the pile) last week they

just run right out with out doing the tunnel walk now this week to see that.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

here is what i say when i was at the game Saturday, when Missouri was doing pregame warm ups, their guys were FIRED UP!!!, they came on to the field as fired up as i have seen anyone come out this year, i knew that if our guys didn't come out with that emotion we were toast. they did their prayer with i don't know which players do that but i could hear them they were very emotional. they are just like South Florida, THEY PLAYED WITH HEART!!!
I totally agree that the #1 factor why we won was that we were 100 times more fires up than Nebraska. If the Nebraska players would have brought the same intensity to the game that our players did, it would have been the shoot out we all expected. The passion our team is playing with has made this team a special team to watch. It's something I was used to seeing in Husker teams growing up.

Here's a great excerpt from a story about the team meeting before the game:

"While Missouri set the tone for the game from the opening kick, defensive tackle Lorenzo Williams set the tone for the Tigers in the team hotel on Friday night. After they finished watching their scouting film, Williams, a senior captain, addressed the team with as much emotion

as he's shown all season. Williams said he was so emotional that tears were streaming down his face as he broke the marker board the team draws its plays on and nearly punched a hole in the wall."

I noticed this lack of emotion/fire/intesity whatever you want to call it at the ISU game. I'm 26, I remember going to Husker games since I was 5 years old. In the Osborne, and, even the Solich days when I would go to a game the guys on the sideline could hardly stand still because they were pumped up and excited to be out there. Bad play, they would get pissed off together. Awesome play, they would cheer together.

Now, the team just stands there and does nothing but watch the game. Bad play, nothing. Awesome play, nothing. It's like they just don't give a f@#k. The intensity seems to have been going downhill ever since Callahan took over. It's a joke.

I am a Husker fan for life, always have been, always will be. But I can't stand just waiting for something to happen. Part of me inside wants us not play in a bowl game this year, and see what kind of staff changes, if any would take place. I'd have to believe if we didn't go to a bowl game in year four of the Callahan experiment, that he would be looking for a new job in December.

The other part of me inside wants to see the Callahan experiment work flawlessly for the rest of the year, doubt it's gonna happen though.

We will see what happens. However rocky the road may be, I will still cheer for them.

oh and

GBR
