Water on hot game days?

I have read but am not sure on NU's policy on soft water bottles being carried in on extremely hot days. Obviously on cooler days they want you to bring cash so you can buy water but when its as hot as it will be saturday will they allow fans to bring in their own? I can't imagine they want people dropping with heat stroke all over the place?

 
I've only heard of them doing this once, for the 2013 Wyoming game. Otherwise, the policy is that no outside bottled water is allowed.

Memorial Stadium policies:

  • The following items are prohibited in Memorial Stadium: Guns, knives, bags larger than security containers, glass, cans, coolers, beverage containers, video cameras, umbrellas and pets. People will be asked to return such items to their vehicles or home. Bags and other items that pass size restrictions are allowed but are subject to search. Plastic water bottles are permitted but may be inspected.
  • Food and beverages from approved game day vendors selling on university grounds are allowed inside the stadium. All other outside food and beverages are prohibited. Certain situations may arise (e.g., extreme heat) that initiate exceptions to this policy. UNL and the Athletic Department will communicate to the public if exceptions will be made.
 
It was 2013 Southern Miss, actually. Good question - even if they officially won't let you, I'm sure it's not hard at all to sneak some in.

 
Water bottles of alcohol slip in easily enough to the student section, you can sneak in a water bottle to anywhere.

 
Start drinking water heavily today and continue until heading to stadium. Slam a Gatorade before you head in and continue drinking water

With moderate heat expected on Saturday, UNL officials are encouraging fans planning to attend Nebraska's football season opener against Brigham Young University to be aware of the dangers of heat and humidity and to take steps to protect themselves.

As an exception to Memorial Stadium's food and beverage policy, the Nebraska Athletics Department will allow each ticketed fan to bring in up to two bottles, 20 ounces or smaller, of sealed or unsealed non-alcoholic beverages during the Nebraska-BYU game. Water bottles are recommended. Large coolers and jugs are prohibited. Subsequent home games will be addressed individually. this could play huge into Nebraska's favor having family from the mountains of colorado there is no Humidity i can only assume it is the same for the mountains of Utah. With our players being used to the humidity a lot of their players could be cramping a lot earlier.

Yes, but they will be going from the thin air of Utah to the lower altitude of Nebraska. Not sure if they will be gasping for air as much as we think.
