Week 0 games

I heard a couple times today there are special considerations to get a week 0 game.  Anyone know what they are?

Games today, like CSU vs. OSU were called week 0 games.  They said there were special stipulations to get to play these games.  Not sure what they were?  CSU opened a new stadium?

I think these are currently a huge missed opportunity. I like that the NFL makes those first Thursday night games bombshell matchups that people want to see. College is sort of dropping the ball. How awesome would FSU v. Alabama be in week zero?

Certainly better than having it air during Nebraska's first game.
