No problem with staying right where we were, pretty much. We havent done anything to justify moving up yet. Even with a win @ Ohio St, it's gonna take a substantial streak of 5-6 wins here to crack the top 15, including Michigan and Mich. St in my eyes.

If we beat Ohio State then turn around and beat Northwestern who should/could be undefeated, you better believe we'll be in the top 15.

A lot riding on the next few weeks. It is a very pleasant surprise, and for me very unexpected. After UCLA, I was ready to count this as a rebuild year and hope next season was the biggie. Could still turn out that way, but I am optimistic.

We need to improve consistently as each game comes, and we may be in Indy in December. Trying not to get too excited, though. A letdown could come any time with either side of our team.

GBR!

I agree with Landlord. If the Huskers are still undefeated in conference play after Michigan State, they will be top ten. The SEC and Big12 will start knocking eachother off, and Notre Dame will have a couple losses.

That said, I've decided not to care about rankings this year. Nebraska's not going to win or even play for the MNC. Their best shot to a BCS bowl is by winning the conference. That is why I'm cheering for NW, Michigan, and Michigan State to lose every game they play. I care more about having a spot in Indy than being towards the top of the polls this year.

My thoughts exactly.

Typo on my part. I mean top 10. A win on the road against the heavenly Urban Meyer (there is no Ohio St. no more, it's just Urban Meyer) SHOULD easily be enough for top 15. But top 15 is still irrelevant. top 10 will takes wins all the way through Mich St. and I think that is doable.

Edit: Never mind I missed your correction post. I agree with that.

Rankings should be a complete non-issue for this team. Just concentrate on making it to Indianapolis.

I know the polls don't mean a lot for our season at this point, after the loss to UCLA, but I feel that where we are at in the polls is a reflection of what the Huskers are putting out on the field.

The better we play, the better we rank in the polls.

The better we rank in the polls, the better we look to recruits.

If we win out and get to the Rose Bowl I know that rank means nothing... but it sure does feel good.
