We'll never be good again.

I'm a firm believer that Frost's failure had way more to do with Frost personally than problems a coach will have with being successful at Nebraska.  We just need to get the right coach and staff and great things can happen.
I agree. Of course Tenn has that SEC recruiting advantage.  It is amazing they were as bad as they were for so long with those recruiting advantages. BUT NIL will help to alleviate some of those disadvantages we have on the recruiting side.

Every coach we have hired since Osborne left recruited in the top 25. Frost did it every year and he was too drunk to show up for skype calls with recruits. Hell Bill Callahan recruited a top 5 class and he absolutely despised recruiting. Pelini was a jacka$$ and recruited elite talent... our Offensive line is abysmal because we can't find anyone to play tackle despite having multiple guys who everyone in the country was trying to get at the position.

It's a coaching issue and an evaluation issue not a recruiting issue. We had a pretty damn good D last year, but you don't get a good defense when your defensive coordinator is hanging out in the steam room and not doing game prep. Special teams went from a complete tire fire to a unit that has been incredibly effective at making big plays. And we can actually kick so that's nice. This offense is pretty damn good except we have no offensive line because we have an entire room full of guys who are too tall, have bad feet and no hips. But we have a couple WR's that are as good as anyone and a good runningback group. We have good linebackers too if they can stay healty... the one question mark is the DLine. That unit is terrible and shouldn't be. They look slow and weak and there's no excuse for it.

I don't care who you are, you aren't going to win much if you have a bad oline and dline. Especially in this league.

Couldn't agree more.. Really, in any league or level of play, even in the nfl, if your lines r trash you're going nowhere

Agree with most everything except the good LBs part.  Our ILBs are bad.  Slow, poor angles, poor tacklers...bad.

Imagine playing in the Big Ten with no LBs, OL or DL.

Just fix that and punt the ball.  Let the punter win you games with field position.

What else does the Big Ten do?  Quarterbacking?  Cheering from the student section?  Burn the play clock down while the TV audience falls asleep?

Only in fans eyes. But his players loved him. He really was no differ then more then a handful of good coaches still coaching.

even with NIL money we can't even get a top 25 recruiting class. it's over.
Screw everything. There is no hope!

It’s understandable to feel that way after having been beat down and disappointed over and over time and again…

Knew Urban didn't run a clean program at Florida. Had no idea it was this bad. I thought in Nebraska we want our coaches to teach young men to not just be winners, but also winners in the game of life.

Also find it funny people are clamoring for Lane Kiffin. He's the anti Urban Meyer. Urban despite his personality flaws wins everywhere he goes so he keeps getting chances. Kiffin ruins the program or screws over the school everywhere he goes and somehow keeps getting chances. It's pretty remarkable.

Football is a dirty game all around. No elite program is truly clean. As much as we all loved the Tom Osborne years, he covered up crimes committed by his players on a frequent basis. Whether you love or hate Urban, he is one of the top 3 coaches in the last twenty years and would have this program as one of the elite programs in college football by year 3. There is no other candidate mentioned you can say that about with any kind of confidence.
