What do you all think?

Five-Star Recruit
This has been a question that has been on my mind for a while......

College ball seems to be evolving quickly these days, with the spread offenses...the speed, the rules...My question is this.

If you take the 95' husker team and played them against some of the top teams of today...what would the results be? Were we so dominant that no matter what offenses/defenses threw at us we would still come out on top...or would we be be outsmarted/outplayed by the new schemes?

Just curious.

GO BIG RED!

That team had so much speed and power, I'd have to think they could take anything a spread threw at them. First of all, it would have been difficult for a spread to get in rhythm as our O would have eaten nearly all of the clock. We had great DB's who could cover man to man which is why we killed Florida. The LBs had great speed to cover or blitz. The front 4 would have gotten a lot of pressure.

:yeah

But then again, it is a different game now...but I still like the 95 team, they had a lot of talent.

Any team in the country today would have a hard time slowing that running game down. On defense we would have given up some yards but produced plenty of big hits and plays to win.

:koolaid2: My opinion is this, the 95 Husker team was loaded with talent and speed. Their defense was unstopable, they were well coached and disciplined plus they executed and everyone did thier jobs efficently. So, I think the 95 Skers could still steam roll anybody. Half of thier team went to the pro's. :koolaid2:

Me: wasnt the "fun n gun" basically a spread offense?

Some crazy mo fo: why yes, yes it was.......

Me: so could the '95 Nebraska football team defend the spread offense?

Some crazy mo fo: why yes, yes it could............

Me: Thank you for your time sir.

Some crazy mo fo: why yes, yes you could thank me...........

I would say we would still be dominant. We had serious speed to begin with. And the game still is all about being physical. 14 of the defensive players on that team went into the NFL and most have very good careers also. The d line was unreal. No question for me, we would win and win big.

You lost me at "If you take the 95' husker team and played them against..."

Maybe I'm being mean & shouldnt havent commented, so i'll just say win.
