I’ve been a member for close to 20 years here and look, I get it, you want to monetize traffic but this isn’t the way. I can barely navigate with all the ads I have to close and when I access on my browser it lags from load time from all the bs. I come on here less and less.

There’s got to be a better way. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

My biggest complaint outside of ads is that there is very little Football content. We are, after all, in Spring FB. I have been reading and posting on another site. I am good with all of the political talk, but it really doesn't interest me. It seems that is all the new content is.

I think across the entire web, and across the entire state, the amount of fan interest in the football team has never been lower. It's wild to see the distinct lack of conversation, hype, camp reporters, etc., but it also makes sense. We've sucked for so long, and its hard for anyone to feel passionate and excited about college football in general these days.

I hope the distinct lack of hype and press ultimately is a good thing. Lord knows all these offseasn national championships haven't resulted in wins.

Husker football just isn't that exciting anymore. As you and a few others remember, I joined the board when I was a freshman in college - Bo's first season. I won't enumerate all the reasons why the board and Husker football were more exciting to talk about at the time because I think we all kind of get it. Hell, I met one of my old roommates through here.

I don't really see it changing until the team actually does something of substance (e.g. makes a playoff run). And I have to admit to, seeing what Indiana did last year... it made me even more despondent about college football. I barely felt anything about the program much of last season. I haven't sought out a single spring football piece or tuned into any local podcasts or radio segments.

I don't want to detract too much from the ad and site load time issues but from a content standpoint you hit the nail on the head.

As far as D Max goes, why would he kill the board if he's making money from it?
Unless of course, he's made back what he originally paid for it. It is odd that he hasn't responded to all the complaints, though.

Right, that's kind of the point being made. The content volume isn't really in question... it's whether or not people actually care about it, or care enough to want to post it and talk about it.

The program has been in a brutal spot for the better part of two decades. I don't think the fandom is in as good of a place as it once was and that has trickle-down engagement effects.

Didn’t think the site could get worse, but someone decided to figure out a way. On mobile, it now refreshes cause of the ridiculous ads while trying to make a bit longer post. Causing the entire post to disappear negating everything that was just typed cause it’s no longer there. Great feature for a message board genius’s.

I had notifications turned on for one of the threads here. I am now watching the entire forum for new posts.

While it is true that I don't spend a lot of time here due to other obligations I do check it more than once a day and when I don't see any notifications I figure there are no issues. I am personally not experiencing the complaints listed. I suspect a lot of them are the Admirel pop up if you have an ad blocker enabled.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a balance of enough ads without interfering with the user experience.

It would be helpful if posters can put up screen shots and/or send me a PM with the URL of an ad that is intrusive so we can get rid of it.

It's not really possible to screenshot or link whatever's going on now that absolutely locks up my (quite powerful) computer if I have more than 2-3 HB tabs open.
