What "political" things have you done?

I have not, not really.  I ran for like a student government position in school once, that was it.

I have never been to a rally or a protest, because I am not crazy.

I have never donated to a campaign (see above)

I have signed some petitions.  I think the last one was to raise min wage (lame).  I did sign one for gambling and I think I signed on for legalizing pot.

I have never put up a yard sign, because that is just odd.

What about you guys?

15 years of posting. Upwards of 20,000 posts in a political section of a message board ostensibly dedicated to football, out of 31,000 total posts.  (This is from knapper, I also am a big poster in politics)

I was on student council in like 8th or 9th grade. Don’t recall having to “run” for it. Think if you were stupid enough to volunteer, you were in.

Went to a city council meeting one time to protest/stop something they were considering. Can’t even remember what it was.

Have never done yard signs or campaigned. Have never contributed to a politician or anything political. I regularly vote and that’s it. Well, I don’t want to sell myself short….there are all my stellar contributions in the HB political forum (which I have grown tired of lately).

I did attend the vigil put on by the Tri-faith Initiative in Omaha when Trump was on a mission to ban Muslims from entering the US.

I had tickets to see Clinton speak at UNK back in 99/00 but gut drunk and passed out without setting my alarm.  Whoops!

I was also on Student Court in college.  Nothing exciting except letting the cute girls out of parking tickets!

Ha!!

f#&%, your post made me remember that I was our schools "Student Council Moderator" for a year.

I HAVE got out of model UN and Harvard Model Congress.  But one comes with a free trip to Chicago(great city, bad band) and other to Boston (bad city, great band)

You've been an active participant in HuskerBoard's Politics forum for over a decade. Most of your posts are in that forum.

Why is that?

To kill time.

I don't really look at that as being involved with politics.  Just like I post in our Locks of the week, but I am not really a big gambler.

What about you?  Where would you rank yourself in terms of political involvement?

I mean, I literally listed out my political involvement, which is for the most part pretty tame.

Unless you count posting on a football site as significant?  In that case, I am literally the most politically involved person all of you know.

None of us want that.

I will list this with my signing of some petitions as far as political involvement!  I guess this bumps me up a notch!    I also guess I did chance one dudes stance on abortion, so I guess it is sort of important.

What about you?  What is your political involvement level?

Also, I have that many posts?  Ugggg, kinda sad, but it would be way more if I posted more during games!

I went to a John Kerry rally of all people. And then I didn’t vote for him.

I stood next to his daughter at the rally. It was at the state fair grounds in Iowa. I got there so early it was me and a bunch of obsessive Democrat people who actually do Democrat things. They questioned me a bit then gave me special tickets. They were probably just nice because I was really young and going to a John Kerry rally. I’m guess <5% of the crowd was younger than me.

Anyhow, it was something like 32 degrees out so kind of uncomfortable and we waited 2-3 hours for a 20 min speech. After the speech, Kerry’s rich a$$ wife comes out in a giant fur coat for a photo op and looks like she’s truly suffering/freezing to death, from being outside for 3 minutes.

Combine her behavior with John Edwards (his running mate) being the most smarmy politician in history (I was not surprised in the least to hear he later cheated on his wife while she was dying. He oozed fake charm.), and the fact I was young and changed my mind easily, I decided to vote for Nader.
