What record gets Cally fired at this point?

I'd vote, but my preference isn't on there. I don't think Ws or Ls are what are most important to TO. Effort, b7 the players, on the field, is what is. The could lose all of them, but if it appears to TO that these players are giving 100% in these games, then BC could stay.

i think BC stays with a new DC next year. TO will give him one more year. However if the final games show no heart/effort he also could be gone along with Coz.

I hope they win the rest of their games. How can you not?
The fact that you're asking shows a sliver of hesitation.

Wins aren't nearly as important the worse our record gets.

I know you've been a big supporter of Cally, (Commendable), but I've never felt he was head coaching material..At least not here, and if there's the slightest chance that he'll put us back another year if we win the rest of our games..I can't believe I been reduced to saying this..So I won't. <_<

I'll say this...My biggest wish right now is that BC (resigns) agrees to a buyout in a week or two, and we can see Watson's abilities to lead the team..Then, definitely win 'em..But you have to keep your eye on the biger picture.

I think it has much more to do with how the games play out than who wins at this point. - however the two are linked.

If our team turns around and starts playing with emotion and the play calling improves as well than Cally may get another shot - and we may win more games.... but if we continue to play like we just don't care we won't win, we won't even be competitive and he will be gone - although it doesn't matter how well they play, another loss by 28+ this season and he's gone.

If Callahan is here next year, we probably get most of the recruits we have committed. We lose out on Bo,{for those of you that want him as head coach} but we still get rid of Coz. Looks like a top ten class lined up.

If things don't get better in 2008, Callahans gone and Turner Gill is brought in,{ for those of you who want him as coach}. We will have the recruiting class from 2008 plus the good ones from before, and if the AD decides it's not Gill or Bo {if hes still without a head coaching job}, he has a good foundation to work from, as far as offering the job to some one else, just show them the players who are waiting to be coached. If we are able to get 90% of this next class signed we will be a team on the way up. With the right coaches of course. IMHO

GBR!!! :bonez

Because with every victory we achieve Callahan creeps one step closer towoards the Safe Zone. I'm not concerned with this season any longer, and no one else should be either. It's a lost cause. Cosgrove is only an element of the problem––firing him will only win us half the battle. I'm just astounded at how quickly people forget why all this mess has happened. It's about performance on both sides of the ball, and the general lack of effort shown by our players. This reflects on Callahan just as much if not more than it does Cosgrove.

I pray for a blowout this Saturday that makes the Okie Lite game look like a good dream. And then the week following at Texas, provided Callahan has not resigned, line'em up again. And again and again if necessary. Whatever has to happen to push this staff out the door, no matter the cost, it must happen.

[clown laughter] I hate that clown. [Happy succeeds in getting the ball in the clown's mouth] YEAH!! [clown head spits ball back out and starts laughing again] YOU'RE GONNA DIE, CLOWN!!! [Happy proceeds to break off the clown's nose with his putter]
J/K but I would personally never wish that upon any team. He will be gone in due time cause its Callahan's way or the Highway.

No matter what, no matter if we went 0-11 1 year and the AD said on more blow out loss and this guy is gone, will I EVER PRAY for a BLOW OUT LOSS. I can't even stomach that idea of thinking that.

Of course I hope we win the rest of the games, of course I hope that BC turns it around and figures out how to motivate these players, of course I hope that Coz, well, that Coz just does everything the opposite of what he currently is doing. I just have little hope that it will happen.

He's going to be gone regardless. Mainly looking at his track record...what happened in Oakland with the division between players/coaches there. It's the exact same thing happening here on almost the exact same time frame. He's lost his team. Lost the fans. Lost his job.

Huskerintheblood and Blackshirt316, I think you guys got it right. Osborne is concerned about the intensity of this team -- he has said such. If the team plays at a much higher level of intensity and they still lose, Callahan might get another year.

Those of you who have followed Osborne throughout the years know he is not a hachet man. Callahan and company will have to continue to stink it up as they have in order for him to consider letting B.C. go. And that would totally be out of character of T.O. to fire him before the season is over. It's not going to happen because this is Tom Osborne we are talking about.

This is a laid back and cautious person. He will not rush his decisions. He understands what it's like being a head coach and being under fire. He has more sympathy for the position than the average A.D.

Now personally, I think Callahan has lost this team, and I have my doubts he will turn this around -- meaning higher intensity, not wins or losses. So in all likelyhood, at the end of the season, we will have a new coach.

So glad everyone's ready to throw in the towel on the rest of the year if it means getting what they think they want. Awesome. Go Huskers!

DaveH, I want the team to play well and win. I am looking at the reality of the situation. You saw how McKeon didn't knock that receiver out of bounds and just reached for him -- pathetic! That seems to be how the team is playing as a whole right now. If I am wrong and B.C. gets this turned around, outstanding! But he's got a tall order, and I think you know that.

So, DaveH, let's see what happens. If the intensity of the play gets better, I will be the first to cheer.
