What we learned tonight

We learned that this particular offense is somewhat effective with Cody Green under center. Now that it's proven, we will go back to zone-reading the crap out of the opposition.

We learned that Watson finally figured out how to call a game when Cody Green is under center. Get away from the zone read and use the power running game. Mix in some passes here and there to keep the D off balance and amazingly we win and win big. Helu and Rex are definitely talented enough to carry this team if the o-line is on the ball.

Or Bo finally loosened up his conservative approach with Cody, you pick which.

1. Offensive line can dominate a game if they dont have nay mental letdowns or blown assignments.

2. Joe Broekemeier should start in CCG, kid caught everything thrown to him.

3. Eric Hagg is the defensive MVP.

I believe Bo is smarter than this. He has great game time adjustments on defense so I can't see him watching Cody and understanding his strengths and then setting him up to fail. Watson I don't have the same confidence about.

1. Cody Green can be effective when Watson plans his game around him.

2. Rex Burkhead is a stud!

3. The defense is so aggressive that it's to a fault at times.

4. Our back-up wide receivers are good at what they do.

Although we kinda already knew this, does anyone else think that we learned that blocking is much more important than catching for our WRs if they want to play? Otherwise, there is no way I can see Joe Broekemeier riding the pine all season with the inconsistency of our other WRs when it comes to catching the football. He should've gotten snaps in the Texas game.

Our D is susceptible to trick plays due to their aggressive nature. Hopefully this will get taken care of after getting burned on a trick play and then a double move yesterday. Luckily, the TDs did not affect the outcome of the game and can be used as a teaching point.

1) Rex Burkhead should have been throwing the ball last week to catch aTm off gaurd. Its sad and pathetic it took us till the last

regular season game to realize this. (by us i mean the coaching staff, i have been calling for it for a looooooonnnnnngggg time)

2) We are fine without Niles Paul dropping passes and fumbling kick offs when we have slower more sure handed fellas handling the ball especially with the defense we field.

3) Brandon Kinnie had his coming out party this season and will only continue to get better.

4) Shawn Watson finally learned what we all have known since CG has started playing more....he is not a shotgun zone read guy, he is a under center drop back passer with good mobility. (Now change the f'ing game plan to suit him when he comes in)

5) The Oline still struggles with stupid false starts even at home and Barney Cotton has to go. Gilmore too.
This. It may not have worked last week, but I would have at least liked to see us try to mix it up a bit when it mattered instead of against an overmatched CU team.

excellent post! 100% on the money! :yeah

After getting burned for the FIRS TIME in his career, I learned that Dennard is in fact a human.

Prince should have had that pick damnit!

While I've come to realize Dennard is human, I'm beginning to question Burkhead

Where the &*%$ has Joe Broekmeier been?

Gilleylen still can't catch

All Kyler Reed does is catch TDs

My first born son's name is going to be Alex Henery Muessel

For everyone who has said that Burkhead is a stud you are dead on. If his talents had been better utilized in the aTm game I think we win.

Did Gilleylen play? It was either him or Henry that was on the receiving end of a SERIOUS off target Zac Lee pass that showed off his injury plain as day, but I forget which. Gills should get more chances honestly, just to burn the defense. The catches will come with some faith. Just like Cody Green.
