When will Favre hang up the shoes

I'm watching the Packers vs. Bengals pre-season game right now, which is Ahman Green's first game back in a long time now by the way. Anyways, I can't get over the fact that Favre is still giving it a go. He needs to retire and let Rodgers take over for Green Bay. In his first 3 drives, Favre is 3-6 36 yards with 1 INT and 1 fumble lost which was returned for a touchdown. He was very lucky not to throw another INT, he was just lucky that there was too much traffic for one person to come down with it. IMO, it would be for the best of the Packers if they finally said to him in mid season when he is yet again leading them to nowhere, hey Brett you had a nice career and we love what you have done for us all these years, but its time to hang up your shoes and go on with life.

From what I understand he had a really good pre-season game last week though!!! So don't put to much into one game. I understand what your saying though I'm sure he'll retire after this year.

I can't see that organization telling Brett to hang them up. Remember, they left the window open for him to retire or come back this summer. THey never pressured him and in fact kept giving him more time to decide. Plus, it can't be a bad thing to have Rodgers learning from an all pro like Brett Farve. Brett and Reggie White made Green Bay into what it is today, there is no way that organization is going to tell Brett that he should hang them up.
