So, I saw this article and of course I noticed Nebraska wasn't even in the top 25 in spending. I was a little surprised, especially when you see Wisconsin in there at #4 in spending.
I believe, based on articles I have read elsewhere, that Nebraska's football program brings in somewhere in the range of $75 - $80 million annually...which would rank revenues among the top programs. (The latest figures I saw were something like 5 years old however...I don't know how much NU brought in in 2012, the year this report covers).
And I guess the question would be....if Nebraska takes in top 25 money, are they not as committed to making the program a top program, or are there other mitigating factors? Maybe it's just because things are less expensive in Lincoln? Maybe the power-that-be are just WAY better at managing money at NU? I don't know....
Maybe someone who follows the $$$ a little closer can shed some light?
