I have a feeling that maybe ISU's D is better. What do you all think?

Our turnovers kept ISU in the game much longer than they should've been.

I don't feel all that great at Mizzou in columbia, though it's not hopeless. We've GOT to win the turnover battle to win it. We may even need to go +2 in turnovers.

I think ISU's defense was better, but I was at the game and our offense really never got going??? I guess we concentrated so much on defense this last week that the offense had some time off. They didn't look all that great.

A better question: who would win a mizzou-ISU matchup and by how many points? There's your answer.

Missery would win that game because they have a better offense by far.

Our offense never got going due to the turnovers, perhaps because ISU's D is better than people give them credit for.

Yeah that was the bad thing. That first pass to Hardy was absolutely insane!!!! Then we go and fumble it away. I thought after that pass we were going to slaughter them...........

No, the real question is which defense presents a stiffer challenge to NU's offense. I say ISU.

I know Mizzou managed to almost lose a 37-13 lead late in the third quarter against Illinois, and give up three touchdowns in the second half against Ole Miss, but still win by 13.

It looks as though their offense has trouble staying consistent the whole game (Western Michigan game excepted). They start out really fast and then don't perform as well the second half . . . kind of like our offense last season.

But that's based strictly on what I'm seeing in recaps and "Score-By-Quarter"s. It could be completely off the mark. :dunno

FWIW...

Wow, I think Iowa State had the 23rd ranked defense before this weekend. They must have played some BAD offenses to let us only have the ball 30% of the game and still hang up enough yards to drop their defense 13 spots.

I don't think many are dis-crediting their defense. It's (or at least was) a top 25 defense nationally going into the game. NU's offense has shown now that it is not going to post huge numbers on a solid defense.
