Who has a breakout year?

Four-Star Recruit
Posted this in the subreddit figured it would be a fun topic here too. Doesn't necessarily need to be a 1st time starter just a guy you're high on.

Offense : Janiran Bonner, I think his impact will be felt more than just passes caught. I see him playing a role in the blocking game. Can imagine a big lead block allowing Rahmir to break one. He obviously has the ball skills too, his TD catch in the spring game wasn't an easy one.

Defense : Javin Wright, This dude's athletic ability is off the charts. The Husker beat writers are finally taking notice. One of the few guys that can lay the lumber and still have the speed to cover a WR or RB. He would also be a good selling point for recruits. Came in as a rangy safety, this staff helped change his body a bit and turned him into that hybrid LB everyone wants.

Honorable Mention : Offensive line, lots of starts with this group, hope to see them really turn the corner this year. The addition of Mazzccua and the development of Evan-Jenkins hopefully can play a role in an OL that actually gives our QBs and RBs time.

No wrong answers here. A guy like Tommi Hill or Isaac Gifford could "breakout" too.

For me it's Thomas Fidone entering All-America status and Janarian Bonner being a legit 20-30 catches a year guy with big impact in all facets of the offense.

On defense: Tommi Hill is going to be first team all BIG and get into the first round.

I'll go full kool aid, and who breaking out would have a huge impact IMO.  Here is what I am hoping for:

Offense: Turner Corcoran.  Solidifying LT would be huge for Raiolas development, as well as landing one of these 5 star tackles to set us up for success.

Defense: Lenhardt/Umanmielen.  A dominant pass rush is what is needed to take this Defense to the next level.

ST:  Buschini.  Consistency, with some boomers. Let's go full Iowa and flip the field all game long.  It is a much bigger deal than people give it credit. The hidden yards are no joke.

I can't disagree.  The "skill" guys are the popular picks, but the wins will come with solid OL play.  True Fresh is going to need a solid LT watching his back.

A true pass rushing threat has been missing for a long time.  We can "manufacture" pressure, but a single guy who can make things happen is the missing piece.

Easiest way to chase 3 is to get 3 when called upon.  Need a cold blooded kicker and a punter who can flip the field and make opposing teams drive the length of the field. Not some shankasaurus that leaves them a short field.  Until the O can get some drives and eat clock, 3 and outs on a short field will hurt.

Football will always be won and lost in the trenches.   We used to own that, and it needs to happen again.

First team All BIG at CB will be pushing AA status easily. Getting first team all conference going forward will be no small feat at all.

Special teams is everything we of all fanbases should know that given all of the games it has cost us this last decade

I'm gonna go with Jaylen Lloyd on offense. He will have many opportunities to run by the defense this season and gain big yardage.

On Defense, I'll go with John Bullock. He will be an anchor in the middle and help get the defense in the right places.

Jacory Barey will break out as a returner on special teams and do some damage as a receiver.

I'll play.  Offense, I think a # of skill position players will flash or rise, I think Coleman's skill set fits really well with Raiola's, but there's only one ball, so I think the name that will grow in stature most this season is Justin Evans-Jenkins.  The fact Corcoran will still at LT when Prochazka was healthy speaks volumes to me.  I'd actually be surprised if he & Mazzccua aren't the 2 highest rated lineman in this unit at seasons end.

Defense, James Williams.

Emmett Johnson....  1000 yards.  Or at least 800-1000.

Defensively Vincent Shavers - True Frosh from Miami.  He could be something good in the rotation.

I have to believe it will be Jaylen Lloyd.  With the addition of the other two in Banks and Neyor you would think he'll be  open a lot.  Or they will be and they have a a breakout year.  Either way I hope there is a 100oyd receiver.  Defensively if Leinhardt or Princewell stay healthy they should have better years than last year and they both looked promising.
