Who Starts @ I-Back Next Season?

Taylor ! I really thought he would be #2 this season behind Ameer. I think that he is THAT good.

 
I like Cross if we run an offense like Riley did at OSU, but if his offense changes too personnel like he says it does i could see Newby being the main man depending on how the rest of the depth chart shakes out.

 
The people on this board that think pro style offense translates somehow better to Imani Cross absolutely befuddle me. The best back will play. And I believe it will be Taylor. Newby has had plenty of opportunity to prove something and I just haven't seen it. Imani is what he is. Straight ahead power back. This is all assuming Bussey doesn't make it here.

Hard to say with us changing offenses but I would say Adam Taylor, seems like he has the best combination of assets. Cross doesn't run outside well and Newby doesn't run inside well.

 
Maybe its just because I've been spoiled watching Ameer, Rex and even Helu but I'm just not impressed with Newby. I know he was just a sophomore last season but rex and Ameer were way better than this by their second year. Running backs seem to grow on trees at NU so I'm in no way worried the stable of backs Nebraska has

 
The old ball coach will go with experience and likely turn cross into something like Gordon IMO.

 
I'm guessing it will be more of a committee, especially at the beginning of the season. As we get closer to the middle/end of the year I bet Taylor gets the majority of snaps with newby rotating in.

 
I hope to see Tayor ............... I think he has a ton of potential and I like his size, I hope he gets a shot to prove himself even if he does not start.

I presume he's a crappy blocker, which can be the only reason why he hasn't played much. I don't know anything about Taylor. I know he's highly rated. Given that the offensive system is going to be very different than what anyone has been playing in, it will probably get down to whom gets the playbook down the fastest.

 
I'm big on Taylor for next year. I think he would have been the goto #2 this year if he was fully healthy

 
I still don't understand why people are thinking we will run a pro style offense. Riley stated that he will look at personal and go from there. He even stated that he doesn't know why he gets labeled as a pro style guy when they ran a little of everything at Oregon State. I bet we run a variation of spread plus pro style. We will be under center more then now but the QBs we have are all dual threat and he was recruiting Stanton himself to be their QB.
