Why did the Offense sputter

Its very hard to be objective when this loss hurts so badly.

Zac cant play against teams from oklahoma. Our DB's look like terrified little kids out there. As far as pass protection is concerned, our o-line played the game of their lives. sure there were a couple of coverage sacks but this was our best game in regards to pass protection.

Losing Bowman really hurt our secondary, that much is obvious when every receiver we played against this year had career games against us. give credit to OU for taking our weaknesses and serving them on a gigantic sh#t sandwich on a platinum platter.

I have to question the play calling. Callahan becomes very predictable when he falls behind. It hurt us even more when Taylor's passes seemed to stall and float far too long.

Sure the Okie St. game was embarrassing, but this hurts even worse.

Sorry for the rant,

And now back to your regular scheduled programming.

Zac had a bad game and when your field general has a bad game it's hard to get your offense going in the right direction...........play calling was questionable at times, but what the hell do I know I'm just a fan that would dream of being the water boy on the Huskers!!!! :clap

A fast OU defense that disguised it's blitz's very well. Two of the INT's Taylor had the defender came out of nowhere to pick it off. The passes were spot on target to be TD's. Taylor got frustrated and seemed to be trying to make the big play instead of managing the game more.
That is balls on right.

While I feel Stoops coached a great game, I don't feel like we got outcoached but out-talent. Their defensive backs were better than our receivers. But when we had guys open for those two possible TDs, Taylor clearly showed his one weakness, his arm strength. Yes, Harris and Smith made great plays, but if Taylor had thrown the rock hard enough and far enough, those two plays would have been TDs. OUs' talented DBs exposed Taylor's weakness like no one else has this year. Take away Mo's fumble and if Taylor connected on those two throws, it could have been a different game, even though we were a little short on talent against those guys.

Guys, we are still missing some players. It's going to take longer than many of you have been hoping. We will continue to get better next year, but it may be at least a couple of years before we have a national championship caliber team (a team that has the potential of competing for one but may not actually win it).
With Coach Callahan admitting to poor play calling that equates to being out coached.

I totally agree with you about the arm strength issue and the INTs. I don't like to knock ZT but the truth is the truth.

Zac's got the arm strength to make those throws, but he must have left it in Lincoln.

I was thinking)yeah hard to believe( that maybe ZT was taking a little off the ball so that cold hands could catch better and that was why the ball seeming to hang more?? Just my $0.02
