Why not this year?

Tommy Armstrong

O-Line Execution

Secondary getting it all figured out.

These three things happen and this team could be the one.

Imo we are much closer to having the wheels fall off then winning a conf title. National title? Not a chance.
Boooooooooo....no need for this interjection of realistic possibilities into this discussion. Bad form!
May as well add this note here. Just finished watching the Husker v Michigan game from last year. It had a lot of very promising moments, both on defense and offense. Very promising. But at the same time, there were times when the team seemed quite ordinary. You can talk about Michigan struggling, our offensive line woes, etc. But in the end, winning a championship or having the wheels fall off both seem like real probabilities. I'm leaning toward the positive side.

Fwiw, USC just had its Husker roundtable and between the 2 hosts and Dan Hoppen, Josh Harvey, and Mike Schaffer (I think),they gave out position grades to all positions and to the coaches. 3 equals a division championship caliber team, 4 being conference championship caliber, and 5 being national championship caliber.

As the team sits right now, they gave the team a 3.04 score. They pointed to this being a building year looking forward to next year being the make or break year. On a side note 4 of the 5 panelists gave the QB position a 2 grade, 1 panelist gave it a 3.

So, they could be wrong and the team could over achieve or progress, but I think that we need to not get too down on the team if they don't win the conference.

I think we are really close to having all the pieces together to be a very competitive team on the highest stage, but I like many after so many let downs and flops when you here great things makes me have some reservations. I still have this feeling though that we are going to be pretty darn good this year and will make a run in the next year or two.
