Where did you find this quote? There are a few things within it that are not accurate. First, Berringer experienced a collapsed lung against Wyoming. Here's a quote from a newspaper article: "Berringer's opportunity nearly slipped away after a partially collapsed lung suffered during a victory over Wyoming was discovered at halftime the next week against Oklahoma State. Then, after sitting out the second half and most of the next week's practice, Berringer returned for the second half of a victory over Kansas State." Second, what was so unimpressive about our victory over KState in 1994? KState was ranked #16 in the country, and we were playing in Manhattan. We won the game 17-6. If you want a game where we were unimpressive in 1994, you should look at the OU game where we beat an unranked OU team 13-3. KState was ranked #11 heading into their bowl game. If Iowa State doesn't beat CU, they won't even be bowl eligible.

While there might seem like some simililarities between 1994's KState game and 2010's Iowa State game, really there are no comparisons. KState was ranked while Iowa State may or may not even be bowl eligible. Matt Turman was a walk on QB who would have never seen the field if it weren't for injuries. Cody Green was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school, and he started a couple of games the previous year.

If memory serves me correctly, Berringer collapsed his lung in the first half against Wyoming when he was hit while diving into the endzone for a score. He nutted it out and played the second half. I vividly remember this game because if it weren't for a botched catch on a punt return by Wyoming our NC run that year would have ended very early in the season. It just struck a nerve with me that people are actually trying to compare last Saturday's game to KState in 1994 when the only real similarity is that we were playing an away game. This team this year really baffles me. Our two revenge games from a year ago and we totally lay an egg against one (Texas) and nearly lay an egg against the other one (Iowa State). Where is the passion for the game?
