Wichita State Looks to Join AAC

This is apparently a done deal FWIW. They're just waiting for the tournament to end to announce it. Should be within a week of tomorrow.

 
such a shame i will have to dislike seaofred shortly. but on the bright side beating uconn will be better for the shocks' rpi than beating anyone in the mvc. i think i can live with that burden.

Boy the MVC has fallen in the past few years. Creighton and Wichita State were their anchors, hope they find someone better than Loyola to fill the gap this time around.

 
BTW WTH is going on at unconn with the men's basketball team? Transfers and a top recruit requesting to be let out of his loi.

That's a good question. I would say its because they had a disappointing season in a weak conference. The AAC is not a P5, but with Witch. State coming the conference is slowly getting better. It was a down year this year for the AAC in my opinion, but it would not surprise me if this is the norm for the AAC getting 2-4 teams in the tourney per year.

We had our top 4 guys all injured for various lengths last season, 3 of those guys missed the entire year. Thus, we had to play guys big minutes that we weren't normally going to be playing extensive minutes. Those guys were told in their post season interviews that they were probably looking at a minutes reduction and left. Vance Jackson's dad is LaVar Ball esque. Said we "didn't feature his son properly".

As for MAL, that one hurts no doubt about it. We have 3 PG's on the roster already but UConn is pretty notorious for playing 2 PG's at the same time and he would've been the number 2 or 3 guy on the floor for us behind Adams and potentially Gilbert (who was hurt last year but was a stud recruit from HS). MAL said he wanted to go somewhere he could be the "feature guy" and while nothing is official the thinking seems to be he will land at Providence.

UConn has a 4* swing forward visiting this weekend and is in the final 5 for 4* PG Blake Harris. We hired Raphael Chillious from Washington who was their ace recruiter, the guy responsible for bringing in Fultz and co the last few seasons. We should wind up fine but its definitely been a brutal past few weeks for UConn nation.

Not sure I could handle reading two boards until after an announcement. The waiting is killing me.

And oddly that's the u conn board they said the "crazy" fans populate. Have already had 3 or 4 u conn visitors to shockernet.net They were the ones giving the warning.

theres crazy people on there just like any board. 95% are welcoming and rational.
