Will Campbell pleads guilty to blocking a sidewalk.

I have no idea about any of this, but...

"felony and misdemeanor malicious destruction of property"

Do you know what all happened? It sounds like more than just trying to slide across the hood of a car and accidentally damaging it.

it was his 21st. He being a kid and enjoying his birthday. His sheer sized crushed the front end.

Man, Michigan can't seem to catch a break, can they MM?

And if the kid is clean as you say and this was just him being a kid on his 21st, the charges do sound rather excessive. Just let him pay for repairs and be done w/it.

they always do that and you end up pleading guilty to a lesser charge. Its how slime proscuters work.

I would certainly not be pleading to a lesser charge if they tried to nail me with a felony for "malicious" property destruction if what you are saying is really true. I'd love to see them try to make that stick in court.

I'm guessing if he took it to court there would be pressure to make him sit while the case is pending, which would cover the whole season. Easier just to take the deal and move on, stupid though this charge appears to be.

Michigan defensive tackle Will Campbell was sentenced to three months of probation and one day of community service for damaging a car hood back in April. The best part of the sentencing was when judge Chris Easthope asked Campbell, "Have you taken a physics class? Do you know what happens when 308 pounds slides across thin metal?"
