I read on here somewhere that it starts this week. Haven't heard anything about who the new coach is or if Kennedy got retained

Hopefully anyone of the players who hope to compete on the OL and DL have already started. Less body fat and more strength would be the goal if I were one of them.

You have that right. Our lineman were largely man-handled strength-wise and were also slow. Too fat. Not strong enough. Guys like Javorio Burkes playing at 337 should be around 300.

And, it is not just a fat issue. Certain players were bulked up muscle (and fat)-wise beyond what they could play. Barry Turner at 238 was quick and very effective (Freshman All American). Last season at 270 he was too slow and ineffective.

good points, a lot of the guys should play at their fastest weight, not just get big and lose that step. i hope we see a trimmed down, active bunch of linemen. playing over 300 lbs. is just way overrated.

I just want Husker Strength back. Seeing the defense grabbing their kneepads and wheezing in the 1st half is absolutely insulting. Stop sitting on the weight benches talking and start lifting.
