Winter Hazard

We've had enough snow and ice the past few days to last me the rest of my life! We've had probably 8-10 inches of snow, and I chiseled about an inch of ice off my windshield yesterday. I just wanted to alert you all to what happened to me on my way home from work yesterday. I was going down the interstate and a HUGE chunk of ice flew off the van in front of me and struck my windshield, cracking the heck out of it! I can't describe the sound it made when it hit, but I'm thankful it didn't shatter the glass or come clear through the windshield. I was able to stay composed and not run off the road, but it could have been a lot worse. Needless to say, it scared the crap out of me! :cry Please be aware of what can happen!

After ice melts a bit on cars that sort of thing does happen. Very scary especially on the interstate.

I am very happy that you are ok.

Glad to hear you are OK, O-Husker.

My ex-mother in law had the same thing happen to her but she was able to melt the ice chunck with a burst of firery dragon's breath before it struck her car. Mama Godzilla is quite a lady.

Thanks T_O_, for making me laugh today! I really needed it today. Kind of a stressful day at work.

Now for the rest of the story..........

I had an appointment to drop my car off last Tuesday to replace the windshield. A co-worker followed me to the "fix-it place", and nobody was there! We went back to work, and I called. Well, "Mr. Fix-it" decided to go to lunch and had forgotten me! In the meantime, they ask me to call some claims department, where I need insurance policy number (which is at home) and the VIN (which I could go get). Then we are disconnected, and when I call them back......they have no record of me or my claim! I was really starting to get ticked by now, and the "fix-it" place calls and wants to know why I haven't dropped off my car! I told them "Mr Fix-it" was at lunch, and now my lunch break was over, so I didn't know when I could get my car in next. They told me it was their mistake, so "Mr Fix-it Jr" came, got my car, fixed it, and brought it back! Whew!!! Just another day in the life..............
