I think they never really saw him at WR that just wanted to sell and get him here. We will see.

He never really looked natural at WR. He's a freak athlete though, I don't hate it. Cody Glenn is one of the few prominent examples where a guy succeeded with a late-career position change, but lots of guys move in their first couple years before settling in. Stanley Jean-Baptiste moved from WR to CB during his Sophomore season and started 9 games that year. Javin Wright moved around a lot in the secondary before settling in at LB. Tommi Hill's career ended on a sour note, but for a season he was a successful position change. I'm not going to pretend it's a good sign, there are a lot more examples of guys changing positions who never end up contributing. But it's not a career death sentence for a talented raw athlete to move positions after one year.

FWIW he wasn't here in the spring, so the 330 he moved up from was a placeholder anyway. But I agree 350 is too big. We do seem to have swung back toward the "list everyone at their heaviest believable weights" for some reason and I really don't know why. Frost did it, I remember when Darrion Daniels was on Adrian Martinez's podcast laughing at his listed weight of 340 or whatever it was and saying he'd never been that in his life (he sure looked it though). I believe Berymon could be 350 and he'll need to get that under control, I do not believe Claude Mpouma went from his previously listed 260 up to 325. And he was here in the spring which made the 260 believable. I think Hayden Ainsworth was also a ~260 listing and is now listed at 310. Most of these aren't accurate anyway, but it's interesting to see when they choose to leave them alone versus pumping up the numbers.

I think Cam Jurgens is a pretty good example of successful position switch. So many forget he was a tight end until after his foot injury which forced a redshirt year and a position switch.

I don't think anyone forgets that Cam started as a tight end. It's simultaneously the only bright spot of Frost's tenure and also a maddening and symbolic one, letting him learn on the job with every third snap errant and killing our offense.

For every Cam there are 50 or more guys who work at a car rental place. Obviously he is talented and it can happen but the probability is low.

Cam had some bad snaps but he was far from our problem.
 
Gotta believe in the first 5 games, especially the first 3 all the backs will be given plenty of opportunities to see if any of them can prove they deserve the #1 slot.

You dam right he is. Let's Goooo!!!!!

At this time last year he was 18. Raiola was turning 20 in early September.

While TJ is putting in the work for this year at NU, Raiola will be 21 in September and sitting on the bench for Oregon.

Got to give props to Lateef getting himself ready as a B1G QB when most don't play during their true freshmen year. Even if the writing on the wall is QB2.... He didn't quit. He is getting stronger and bigger and more familiar with DH & Husker football, going into year 2.

I'm proud of him
