Turner-Bell race has to wait until offseason

Turner won’t deny that sophomore receiver Kenny Bell is fast. Turner just thinks he’s faster.

You can imagine that’s been a topic of discussion among the competitive teammates. NU doesn’t allow players to race during the season, though.

But after the year is over?

It’s on.

“If y’all want to bring the cameras out, me and Kenny Bell got this race going on at the end of the year to see who’s faster,” Turner said.

Turner wants a 40-yard dash. Any longer, and Bell might have the edge, Turner said.

The friendly trash-talking started as the two left the practice field Tuesday.

“You’re going to look real bad when you lose,” a smiling Bell shouted toward Turner.

This thread needs to make it to the offseason. According to rivals, Kenny Bell runs a 4.45 40 yard dash, while Jamal Turner runs a 4.51. Kenny Bell has put on 12 pounds since high school (185 currently) and Jamal has put on 10 pounds (185 currently). I think I'll take Kenny

Jamal Turner is so good he can run 40 yards and only run 5 yards. Tough call but I have Turner.

This thread is awesome.

I hope this builds up just like the Tussle on the Turf:

What will it be called? Clash of the dash? Swag dash?

Something. Something awesome.

Kenny's going to have to tie down or shave that 'fro before he runs. Thing acts like a drag chute.

I'm gonna say this before someone else, just so I can steel their thunder. This team has enough problems as it is. They dont need to be worrying about who's faster than who and such. Poor leadership is how these things happen and how focus is lost. It's because of crap like this in the middle of a rough stretch that this program will never be back. derpa derpa?

I'll say Jamal, just cuz he looks faster. I think it's pretty close though. Hope they both can get a lot of productive touches in the 2nd half of the season.

Got that right...

Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, you can't be all football all the time or you're going to burn out. At least they are waiting till the offseason to actually do it. Last thing we need is a pulled hammy.

My money is on Bell, easy!!!!

No wonder Turner wants to keep it under 40 yards, he'll have to run dang near a mile to cover that ground. ;)
