Stopping running QBs...why all the difficulty?

Whether it's an excuse or not, a lot was made last year about us having defensive personnel recruited to the Big 12 and forced to "fit" into a B!G mold. So we recruited aggressively valuing speed (at a somewhat cost of size).
I'm not trying to "burn you," but I want to point out that this doesn't make any sense.

What type of offense do you typically see in the Big XII? At least, with the dominant ones? Bo himself said it was spread offenses.

Are you saying that we intended to recruit big, powerful, and less-slow linebackers in our 2008 & 2009 recruiting classes for the Big XII spread offenses? Because that's just not an accurate picture.
No, I thought the sarcasm was self-evident. Probably should have inserted a sarcasm icon because the legacy of "our" upperclass linebackers ostensibly recruited to the Big 12 are being exploited by the spreads we see in the B!G. Imagine our situation if we were still in the Big 12.

If the practice reports are correct then we are seeing a partial scheme shift of personnel. I admit this has me sorta excited as it seems sound and makes sense in trying to stop DT QB's. We will be going to more Nickel/Dime to add speed to our defense. Take out a slower LB or two for faster S/CB.
I'm glad to hear this too, but like someone posted earlier, we heard this jazz after UCLA too, and we still have the same starting LBs and safeties as we did for the debacle. Also--news flash--a guy named Charlie McBride, who also happened to coach defense at Nebraska, figured out that you need to replace slow bulk with speedto stop athletic offenses. And he did that, like, 20 years ago. Our staff is just figuring this out now?? :ahhhhhhhh

We struggle purely due to lack of talent.
Right, because all those years Osborne was piling up 1 or 2 loss seasons and Nebraska lived in the Top 5, he was racking up top 5 recruiting classes? :confucius
No, but he was running a scheme that allowed for them to be dominant without top shelf talent. Bo's defense you must have top shelf talent to be successful. See all Bo's successful defenses and they were loaded with talent.

Exactly!
