Brett Maher says he's happy for a #Huskers defense that's "kind of gotten ridiculed all season.

As for those rugby punts, they were designed to keep Michigan off-balance, Maher said. "It worked pretty well."

Maher said #Huskers worked more on rugby punts than in previous weeks. "It's another wrinkle. It gives teams something else to prepare for."

Taylor Martinez says he's still "beat up" from Michigan game. Says he injured his ankle -- not the one that has given him problems in past.

Martinez injured his ankle at end of first half. In 2nd half, he "fought through it." He says he'll be fine for Saturday's game. #Huskers

RB Braylon Heard tweaked groin last week. Could've played Saturday, but NU didn't want to use him unless necessary, Pelini said.

So the bench Martinez crowd was making him mentally tough? I thought there was a reason for their opinion but until now I didn't understand it.
