*** Official Michigan State Game Discussion Thread ***

The refs gave them those 7 points, not to mention that the spot on the 3rd down was a full yard closer than it should be.

It's over. Good job TMart.
You explain how this loss is on Taylor Martinez only? You're just another hater that finds any little way to point his finger at Martinez. It's not Martinez's fault we lost, it's the entire team, how about the defense giving up all these yards!?

Third Quarter Impressions:

  • All the pass interference calls that were called against us were correct & justified.
  • Our defensive line still cannot get any...ANY pressure on the QB by themselves. It's pretty scary to watch just that front four.
  • Nebraska has a great East-West running game.
  • Nebraska is also lacking a physical North-South running game. Want to know why we have a lot of 3rd & mediums and 3rd & longs, look to our lack of getting 2-4 yards running North-South.
  • I'll be honest, I am very puzzled at the lack of zone blitzes. We need to rattle Michigan State's QB in the pocket, but so far he is pretty comfortable back there because we are letting him get comfortable.

Things I would like to see in the 4th Quarter:

  • Play-action bootleg play calls. Give Taylor a run-pass option.
  • Get Jamal Turner involved in the game somehow..someway. Wide-receiver, punt returner....he needs to touch the ball.
  • Move Meredith back to DT to get more push up the middle.
  • If Nebraska doesn't find a North-South running game either with power running or zone read in the first 2 drives of the 4th quarter we will lose.

Why can't you challenge a penalty? It's a judgement call just like any other call on the field. Cause that's a huge ref mistake. Cost us at least 4 points.

The offense has been on the field 8 plays in the second half, that's the difference, and quit blaming Beck MSU has a great D and we knew this was going to be tough coming into this game
