We need to run ciricles around Penn State. Get Ameer AND Braylon on the edge and let speed and elusiveness to put up the rush yards.

The numbers that you stated? Because aside from their first game, they held each opponent to less than their season average. Not usually the sign of a horrid defense.

 
I agree with the sentiment that the wind won't have much impact on passes due to the QBs being good, as well as the fact that we have a pretty huge stadium that blocks a lot of it out. But punting should see a pretty significant effect.

I always love when it's really windy because then you see some very smart coaching decisions that you might never see. One of my all-time faves was a college coach (not sure where) calling timeout at the end of the third quarter in order to punt before the sides changed and the wind was in their face in the 4th quarter. It resulted in like a 70-yard super-punt. Love it.

 
Guess the severe storms will hold off until after the game. Cold front will be running from Norfolk to Grand Island by 6pm, even if the storms start going at that time or before, they will be too far west to make an impact on the game.

Winds will be 20 - 25 mph out of the south, with gusts up to 35 mph.

It's definitely going to affect the kicking game which is to bad. In normal conditions we had a clear edge. With a strong directional wind from the south that edge depends upon what direction your going so it may help even things out or give us an even bigger edge. It's pot luck. It also can affect your drop on punts so you may end up with shanks. Need a very short drop or no drop.

I also think it affects the long ball both vertically and possibly long horizontal throws, which hurts Nebraska again IMO. PSU does a 3 step drop and fire so they don't do as much long stuff as we do. Again in depends upon the direction but I would say it's safer throwing into the wind in general because you tend to overthrow the ball with the wind and generally WR's adjust to underthrows better than DB's. Wr & TE's will have to concentrate and watch out for knucklers and ducks.

Ohhhh so they held teams, that can't run, around 100 yards is impressive? Look at where those teams rank in rushing offense. Horrid Rush D when they come against a good rush offense.
