Depends on what you want to use it for, how compact you want it to be, etc. I have a .45 Springfield XDS 5+1 that's a bad m-fer.

xdS, xdM, nano, solo seem to be all good CCW alternatives.

S&W make some great hammerless pocket protectors too

name brands are more $$ but seem to have fewer problems; and that can be a lifesaver to not have any problems i.e. The Walking Dead
