Alright, but whats the starting salary?
The pay is s#!t. In fact there is none, and we owe the overlords taxes. Sucks, man...
I think this was a pretty well-written article, but Dirk has done himself no favors at all over the years. Covering Nebraska football is his job, and while it's not clear whether or not he's a fan of the program, he is certainly not a fan of Bo. I can't really fault anyone for viewing Dirk with suspicion, as his personal vendetta is clear as day. It doesn't mean that he doesn't hit on good points now and then.
I can get behind of some of what Dirk is saying here. Overall though, I just don't feel too bad about giving Georgia all they could handle. I feel it was a respectable effort and unfortunately, it got away from us in the end, as many expected. Teams traded back and forth blows. It was a barnburner. Stuff like what Dirk is saying would have more merit if we had suffered another iniquitous blowout, but we hung with them Dawgs.
But oh, this loss will have consequences. The relative goodwill of not being blown out will fade over the years. Getting that magic "11" number would have been so huge for Bo, but now he can't have that to hang his hat on, and any slip-ups aren't going to go over well. Missed opportunity to really buy himself some extra rope, but I came away from that bowl game thinking I'd like to see more of Bo Pelini on our sidelines.
The program has hit a rut, a plateau, but on the downward side of the talent wave, what does anybody expect but some not-so-nice stats to swallow? The question is now going to be, is that up wave coming, or not? It will need to come soon.
