Just what are we going to need to do to bring the title back the corn state?

Let's start on the coaching front. We need to pay someone like 6-7 million per plus treat them like a god with great perks. Who should we be looking into? And what else does Shawn E need to do to bring us home a convincing title win in the national championship?

That's what we should do! Lets just throw money at it. That should fix everything. God forbid we should show some patience with the already good coach we have.

He needs to get closer. Next year will be Martinez last year so best chance with the easier schedule. I'll give Bo time until contracts runs out but by then it will be known if he can produce or not.

Quit recruiting project players and guys we can develop. Bo has shown a complete inability to develop anyone. Just look at the 20+ OL on schollie and 11 at the DL spot.

Recruit guys who can play from day one.

Can the 2 gap D crap.

Quit having our QB lead the nation in fumbles for 3 years in a row.

Stop the TO;s period.

Limit penalties.

Start developing some depth. It is evident outside RB and WR we have none. Safeties next year? No experience. LB's? No real experience. QB? Forget it. TE? Same. OL? None. Punter/Kicker? No.............

An article from Shatel IIRC, summed it up about the difference with Bama and the others. One word.....Effort. Bama plays with the most effort and urgency in the country. Flawless. Like NU used to be. UGA and LSU have comparable athletes, but both lose to Bama because of effort. Bo needs to find this effort and keep it up for 4 quarters. A player half asses on the field, he can ride the pine. Penaly, hit the pine. Fumble, even at QB, hit the pine.

We get kicked in the nuts, we give up. ie Hail Mary, AA fumble, Miller's TD run this year, UM punt penalty last etc.... We do not recover from these shots. Effort, not quitting..........

Continue doing what we have been doing for the past 5 years. Win 9, 10, and 11 games a year until we eventually put a team together that's able to win the big one.

The LAST thing we should do at this point, barring catastrophe, is to find a new coach. That would only set us back another 5 years minimum.

Have a fully matured coaching staff, not a bunch of guys learning the job and trying to figure out when to stop being stubborn. A roster built for the league it's playing in, not a bunch of Big XII LB's playing in the B1G. An offense and a defense that matures the same year (and ideally doesn't have to reset instead of reload). A better turnover margin. A good bit of luck.

Talent recruited doesn't win champs, USC, the state of Florida and ND show that. Developing talent well doesn't win champs (http://blogs.mercurynews.com/collegesports/2012/09/13/2012-nfl-roster-breakdown-usc-leads-all-schools-cals-in-the-top-10/) (sup miami, Georgia, Cal, Iowa, and Michigan?). It's a combination of a whole bunch of things. However, you all know that.

What is a fully matured coaching staff? Let me guess. A bunch of flavor of the week coaches that supposedly never make mistakes or get out coached. Hate to break it to you but even the mighty Nick Saban get out coached some days. I.e. Texas A&M.

EXACTLY!!!! There are NO perfect coaches like so many people on this board believe.

Do our guys really know the fundamentals of this game? I would like to see Bo and Co. get these kids grounded in the fundamentals. Teach them how to tackle correctly, teach them how to carry the ball so they don't fumble the dang thing, teach them how to catch it even if the sun is in their eyes (Sheesh! On a sunny day get them those tinted visons for their helmets!!) If the scheme he is using is too difficult then simplify it, adding on to it as they learn it. But I don't feel like they play sound ball with regards to the fundamentals.
