Hello there Red hoard

Thanks for letting me post on you're board. Are many of you coming out our way to join us as we "Pack the Jack"?

It will bee interesting to see how well youre quarterback does in our wind tunnel. Not many make it out alive. ;)

Good luck

Welcome Bowl Bound. Should be a great game under the lights. Personally I think ZT will have a good game, because he has something to prove after last week. GBR!

I don't know, you're going to really have to step up your pass defense. Taylor can get pretty hot when he's in the zone, and your defense is at the bottom of the pack as far as passing yardages go.

Should be an interesting game.

Welcome to the board BBC. It should be a good game.

I'm interested in what you think about the cyclones defense? Taylor is pretty hot so far this season, he has a 180 QB efficiency rating, and has a 12 - 2 TD to interception ratio. To top it off we probably have the best set of receivers Nebraska has ever had. How do you think the cyclones will stop Nebraska's offense?

IMO, it's going to be like watching a WAC game. Neither defense will really stop the other offense. It will probably be a shoot out til the end. I'm guessing each team will score in the upward 30's to lower 40's. Our DB's can't really cover your big receivers. Your defense can't stop our run or pass. The game will come down to who has the fewest turnovers is the team that will win the game. I don't expect a blowout either way unless someone's defense actually shows up.

I believe ISU gets the nod on offense because of the big receivers and Meyers ability to scramble. NU gets the nod on defense. Theoretically, NU should win the game. However, our road record is horrible and who knows what kind of hangover we have from the KU game.

If the wind is really blowing, we just resort to shorter passes. Not a big deal.

One big benefit of the WCO - it is diverse enough to adapt to different situations.

Plus, last time I checked, ISU's run defense isn't exactly outstanding...

Welcome to the board,

I have seen Iowa State play against Iowa. I thought they played pretty well.

If that team shows up we will be in for a good game. The Neb Blackshirts need to step it up, if they do I think we will win big. The other scenerio is Grix being drug around the field by the bigger, stronger Iowa State revcievers. Then in that case I would have to take the Skers in a track meet. :restore

Nice to have you on the board.

Maybe I'm crapping rainbows here but, our defense played poorly in one game, and in that game we still won. That says something about the teams desire. And wasn't it the defense that stopped KU to HELP win the game? I'm not ready to throw them, the blackshirts, under the bus quite yet. That doesn't mean that I don't have any concerns with the lack of size, because I do. We'll see how the D performs this weekend but until then I'll reserve judgement.

I know NU is a better team overall and should win, but when you add in the home field advantage and the level ISU plays at when they play a good team, we should have a real good game on our hands.

I have to believe our defense is going to show up this weekend. By their own admission (and that of the DC), our defense didn't play up to par last weekend agasint KU. I think they're going to play solid defense this Saturday not so much to prove a point but to make up for the mediocre game last week.

Should be a good game though! Even though I predicted the score to be something like 34-10 in favor of NU, I don't see us blowing out ISU unless we're able to shut down ISU in all facets of the game. Not too mention, our road record sux.

Wind will be out of the SSE at 12 -15 mph, at kickoff.Shouldn't have much effect, and both QB's will have to deal with it.

Bowl Bound Cyclones, the wind never blows in Nebraska, so we wont know how to react. Oh,and I take it your monicker is several years old...correct ?(had to needle you a bit)!

Hey bowlbound welcome to the board........It will be interesting to see how our defense plays Meyer.....he doesn't have the same passing ability that Taylor has, but we all know he can scramble. In a way Iowa State has become one dimensional because McCarney sure as hell isn't throwing enough to Blythe. If McCarney would pull his head out of his a$$ he would know that if he passes more to Blythe it helps the offense out so much. Your defensive secondary is just as pitiful as ours so it will come down to the big boys up front and LB's and what they can do......It will most likely come down to a track meet and will be up to the offenses to do something with the game..........turnovers will be key and you better hope it doesn't come down to a field goal for Iowa State because we know how many problems Iowa State has with field goals in big games........ :restore
